KG Migration & Education Pty Ltd (KGME) is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information.
We adhere to the underlying values of the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as a matter of internal policy and in compliance with the Code.
What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?
Personal information is information we hold which is identifiable as being about you. The kind of personal information we collect, and hold will depend upon the type of services that you request from us and may include: your name, date of birth, address, contact details and relevant identification documents including immigration information.
KGME collects your Personal Information in a number of ways, including directly from you via phone / video conference, email or in a form; or we may receive Personal Information about you from third parties in order to provide you the relevant services. In circumstances where we receive Personal Information about your from third parties, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.
KGME collects your Personal Information to enable provision of its migration services. KGME uses your Personal Information and sensitive personal information only for purposes for which you have given it and for related, internal management purposes.
Security and Storage of Personal Information
Security is a priority for us when it comes to your personal data. We are committed to protecting your personal data and have appropriate technical and organisational measures in place to make sure that happens. We take appropriate measures to protect Personal Information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, considering the risks involved in the processing and the nature of the Personal Information. Data that is provided to us is stored by us using services such as Migration Manager software, and OneDrive. We ensure that all third-party services that we use to store your personal data have in place the requisite security to protect your data.
When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.
Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose your Personal Information to any of our employees, officers, insurers, professional advisers, agents, suppliers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy. Personal information is only supplied to a third party when it is required for the delivery of our services.
We may from time to time need to disclose personal information to comply with a legal requirement, such as a law, regulation, court order, subpoena, warrant, in the course of a legal proceeding or in response to a law enforcement agency request.
We may also use your personal information to protect the copyright, trademarks, legal rights, property or safety of Migration Affairs, migrationaffairs.com.au, its customers or third parties.
Information that we collect may from time to time be stored, processed in or transferred between parties located in countries outside of Australia.
If there is a change of control in our business or a sale or transfer of business assets, we reserve the right to transfer to the extent permissible at law our user databases, together with any personal information and non-personal information contained in those databases. This information may be disclosed to a potential purchaser under an agreement to maintain confidentiality. We would seek to only disclose information in good faith and where required by any of the above circumstances.
By providing us with personal information, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the types of disclosure covered by this Policy. Where we disclose your personal information to third parties, we will request that the third party follow this Policy regarding handling your personal information.
Access to your Personal Information
You may request details of the Personal Information that we hold about you in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). KGME will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information. In order to protect your Personal Information we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.

We reserve the right to refuse to provide you with information that we hold about you, in certain circumstances set out in the Privacy Act.
